Terms of Service
Last updated: 1 March 2026
1. Introduction & Acceptance
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Coorie platform, including our website, mobile applications, and related services. By creating an account or using Coorie, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the platform.
Coorie is operated by Coorie Care Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales with its registered office at 86-90 Paul Street, London EC2A 4NE. References to “Coorie”, “we”, “us”, or “our” refer to Coorie Care Ltd.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into binding contracts to use Coorie. By registering, you confirm that all information you provide is accurate, current, and complete.
Carers must meet all legal requirements for providing childcare in the United Kingdom, including possessing appropriate right-to-work documentation and undergoing an enhanced DBS check. Coorie reserves the right to verify your eligibility at any time and to suspend or terminate accounts that do not meet these requirements.
3. Account Registration
To use Coorie, you must create an account with a valid email address and a secure password. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.
You must notify us immediately if you suspect any unauthorised use of your account. Coorie is not liable for any loss arising from unauthorised access to your account where you have failed to keep your credentials secure.
4. Platform Services
Coorie is a marketplace that connects parents and guardians with childcare professionals. We facilitate introductions, bookings, payments, and communications between users. Coorie is not an employment agency and does not employ carers. Carers are independent service providers who contract directly with parents.
While we verify carer credentials and conduct background checks, we do not supervise, control, or direct the care provided. Parents are responsible for making their own informed decisions about childcare arrangements, including interviewing carers and assessing suitability.
We strive to provide a reliable and available platform, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time with reasonable notice where possible.
5. Bookings & Payments
Bookings are agreements between parents and carers facilitated through the Coorie platform. When a parent submits a booking request and a carer accepts, both parties enter into a binding arrangement. A 10% service fee is added to the carer's hourly rate and charged to the parent to cover platform maintenance, payment processing, and support.
Payments are processed securely through Stripe. Payment is authorised when a booking is confirmed and charged upon completion of the session. Carers receive their earnings via bank transfer within 3-5 working days of a completed booking.
Cancellations made more than 24 hours before the booking start time are free of charge. Late cancellations (within 24 hours) may be charged up to 50% of the booking total. No-shows by parents are charged the full booking amount. If a carer cancels, the parent receives a full refund.
6. Carer Obligations
Carers must maintain accurate and up-to-date profiles, including their qualifications, availability, experience, and hourly rates. Any changes to DBS status, right-to-work status, or qualifications must be reported to Coorie immediately.
Carers must respond to booking requests within 24 hours, arrive on time for confirmed bookings, and provide care consistent with the standards described in their profile. Carers must comply with all applicable UK laws and regulations relating to childcare.
Carers must not solicit parents to make arrangements outside the platform to avoid service fees. Doing so constitutes a breach of these Terms and may result in account suspension or termination.
7. Parent Obligations
Parents must provide accurate information about their children, including any allergies, medical conditions, special needs, or behavioural considerations that a carer needs to know to provide safe and appropriate care.
Parents must ensure a safe environment for the carer to work in and must be contactable during the booking period. Parents are responsible for providing clear instructions regarding routines, emergency contacts, and any household rules relevant to the care arrangement.
8. Prohibited Conduct
Users must not misrepresent their identity, qualifications, or experience. Harassment, discrimination, abusive language, or threatening behaviour towards other users is strictly prohibited. Users must not post inappropriate, misleading, or false content on the platform.
Users must not attempt to circumvent the platform's payment system, reverse-engineer or interfere with the platform's technical infrastructure, or use the platform for any purpose other than its intended use. Violations of these rules may result in immediate account suspension or permanent removal from the platform.
9. Intellectual Property
All content, branding, designs, software, and materials on the Coorie platform are owned by or licensed to Coorie Care Ltd and are protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the platform without our prior written consent.
By posting content on the platform (such as profile information, reviews, or messages), you grant Coorie a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, display, and distribute that content in connection with the operation of the platform.
10. Limitation of Liability
Coorie facilitates connections between parents and carers but does not employ carers or provide childcare services directly. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Coorie shall not be liable for any loss, damage, or injury arising from the care provided by a carer, the conduct of any user, or any dispute between users.
Our total liability to you for any claims arising from or related to the use of the platform shall not exceed the total fees you have paid to Coorie in the twelve months preceding the claim. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death, personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Coorie Care Ltd, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, losses, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the platform, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of any applicable law.
For carers, this includes any claims arising from the childcare services you provide. For parents, this includes any claims arising from the information you provide about your children or the care environment.
12. Dispute Resolution
If a dispute arises between a parent and a carer regarding a booking, we encourage both parties to resolve it directly through our messaging system. If this is not possible, either party may contact Coorie support at support@coorie.care, and we will make reasonable efforts to mediate the dispute.
Coorie's decision on booking disputes, including refund requests, is made at our discretion and is final. For disputes that cannot be resolved informally, you agree to pursue resolution through the courts of England and Wales.
13. Termination
You may close your account at any time through your account settings or by contacting support. Coorie may suspend or terminate your account at any time if you breach these Terms, if your conduct poses a safety risk, or if required by law.
Upon termination, your right to use the platform ceases immediately. Outstanding payments, obligations, and any provisions that by their nature should survive (including limitations of liability and indemnification) will continue to apply after termination.
14. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising under or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect. Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of that right or provision.
